Entire Wardrobe of a Lady from 1787
Making the History of Fashion your major field of occupancy, you will always come across the one knowledge: fashion has been art in the 18th century – not only then, but then specially. But admiring the appearance, just like indulging in a divine musical composition, is one thing. Thinking about of what it is composed is quite another. It is only well-combined notes that lead to a coherent entirety.
Inspired by that wish, a client turned to us: a whole wardrobe, following history and what we now understand as rules. Not only head to toe, but wholly across a full an imagined day, covering all possible societal occasions, from “le lever” until opera evening. It has been an ambitious project, which we gladly embraced, and its result is proudly presented here. An entire wardrobe for a lady, whereas we merely focus on items that originally stem from our workshop.
As an additive and a special reward, the client in her wardrobe will be represented in a German edition of “Park Avenue”, following a two day shooting and being published in Summer 08 expectedly.
From here you will be guided through all the numerous elements that from a lady’s attire. Or rather – to keep to the metaphor of music – through the process of how one note arranged to another forms a composition.
