Lady´s Jacket and Gilet 1790

As there was no proper pattern handed down from the 18th century, the pattern was recontructed by us, following the stipulations of the Georgian period.
Also the hip construction has been developped by us, regarding 18thcentury models.
With this wardrobe, the support and shape are particularly important.

Naturally, the jacket and gilet are embroidered by hand.
It has to be pointed out specially that the underside has been embroidered, too, making it look equally marvellous in case the lapel is turned upwards..Jacket and gilet were made of zibeline, a strong and tight silk. It has been dyed separately, mingling various shades in order to achieve the elegant silver-green of the original.

Jacket and gilet are lined with silk taffeta.
The chemise, to be worn underneath, is edged with antique lace.
As designated by 18th century fashion, a special kind of stays is necessary here to provide the basis for the characteristic shape.
The two-layered skirt is made of fine silk taffeta and silk chiffon with satin stripes.
As it was favoured with these skirts, it was worn ending 10 cm above the ground.
