English Suit dated around 1760
Man´s justaucorps of midnight blue silk satin following the portrait of Warren Hastings
Coming as close as possible to the original, goldcoloured silk buttons and cordsare applied to it. Authentically the jacket is completely lined with handspun natural silk.

Matching the habit above a waistcoat was made later. As material we were able to obtain an ORIGINAL silk of the 18th century, which used to be in possession of the famous Fox family (GB).
Startlingly the fabric ressembles the one Hastings wears on his portrait.
The cut is based on an antique piece from our private collection. All Buttons and button-holes are handmade. To protect the fragile texture two layers of taffeta have been laid in, in addition to the horsehair and lining.
