The era of Baroque fashion is as extravagant as full of taste, and every country in Europe portrayed its very own interpretation of style. These variations have been realised by us with great attention to detail, setting high standards in terms of quality and materials.

made of midnight blue velvet. The coat is lined with deep red sik and is hand-embroidered.
Deliberately contrasting is the gold moirée waistcoat which is embroidered with silver metal threads.
It was very fashionable to wear civil robes with a military character, particularly as state robes if the aristocrat - as was the case here - had been a succesful military man.
Flemish baroque around 1634
inspired by many potrait of Frans Hals, particularly by the potrait if Tieleman Roosterman 1634, this costume was made after an original pattern of 1635.

The doublet is made of black velvet and is decorated by approx. 60 velvet buttons, satin ribbons and hand-stiched ornaments. The ruff and sleeves consist of silk organza and vintage lace.
We used heavy silk satin for the trousers, and attached silk ribbons to it. As ist was popular in those times, the trousers are tied to the doublet and the ends of the laces form one more decorative detail..
Also the shirt was made of fine silk.

The whole dress was made of silk satin in taupe and amber colour.
The top, the sleeves, the skirt and the ruff are embroidered with antique gold bobbin lace .
All part have been sewn after an historical pattern which was taken from the costume found in a grave.

As to be seen on the original picture, it was manufactured of petrol blue velvet and silk taffeta, and is embroidered with silver braids.
As it was destined for a young girl then, it is also worn by a 5-year old today.
All small details have been respected in our reproduction: the dress is combined with a heart-shaped charm as well as a golden order sash. For our version, an antique gold braid with pure gold metal threads has been used. Naturally we have paid attention to the silk rosette and the asymmetrical ribbons.
Worn by little, neat Amber, the Infantin is given new life again....

The trousers were made of amber coloured silk satin, the jacket consists of gold coloured damask. Both are lined with pure silk.
The jacket is decorated with antique bordures.
We used antique lace with an authentic baroque pattern for the collar.
As special detail the jacket, trousers and sleeves are decorated by hand-made gold-plated buttons..

Military fashion of the Late Baroque, around 1700/10
This costume appeared in the movie "The Man in the Iron Mask" and was made after an historic pattern.
We used royal blue wool as material, which is very richly decorated with antique silver bordures. Alltogether, 100 handmade buttons are stiched to it.. The inner material is kept in dark red.
Antique lace embellishes the shirt made of pure silk..
