The careful choice of fabrics is eased by a careful choice of their origin. Fabrics we use mostly derive from manufacturers with centuries of tradition in England, France and Italy.
Those factories have a great variety of original pieces and patterns from different eras at their disposal, which are used as models and are woven still today.
We are convinced that only European purveyors posses the required knowledge and sources about fabrics in use here in the respective centuries.

Custom-Made Silks
Undoubtedly, the fabric required to reproduce the Wedding suit of a king cannot be found in the standadized repertoire these manufacturers offer. It had to be woven specially.
In a traditional silk weaving in Germany the replica of the silk used in 1765 was created: entirely natural Organzin silk, intertwined with threads of pure silver (altogether around
3 kg).
Embroidery
Many courtly attires, and a royal wedding suit in particular, receive their impressive appearance by means of luxurious hand-embroidery.
Even in the 18th century the most prestigious were imported from Asian countries. But even there, the fine art of embroidery is lost in many places today . Merely in India it is preserved traditionally and in its most lavish manifestation.
Therefore we have established a business contact to an excellent partner in Northern India. Even in his country he is regarded as renowned artist with an according price level.
We call on him and his friendly workshop personally several times a year to discuss orders directly with him and his employees (all male adults).
Again, he did a marvellous work to this project. It took him two full months to realise it.

A distinctive detail in the reproduction process is the use of antique lace, the art of manufacturing the latter being almost lost, too.
Our lace is provided by a merchant in England, who enjoys the good reputation of being an expert in academic circles. She is specialised in lace from the 17.-19. century.
Therefore our customers may enjoy the advantage of having original lace added to the whole arrangement.
